Dear Boys,
We had a pretty neat experience today. While Daddy and Tori were at the dentist, the four of us trekked up to the Cumming Chick-fil-a to meet my friend Dani and her little buddy, Sacha. Sacha is a 10-year-old boy who lives in an orphanage in Russia. He is an incredibly talented kid who won an art contest and was chosen from over 40,000 applicants to visit America for two weeks. We were really glad to get the opportunity to meet this very special boy!

The three of you had a wonderful time playing with Sacha, despite the fact that he speaks hardly a word of English! Luckily, the "language barrier" wasn't really a barrier at all. It seems that good, old-fashioned rompin' stompin' fun is pretty much universal! Russian boys.....American boys......ALL boys love horseplay! Davis, you were the one who was most looking forward to meeting Sacha and I am so glad he turned out to be as cool as you thought he would be. It was so sweet of you to take him under your wing. I loved how you really tried to understand him when he spoke to you (even if all you could do was just politely smile and nod!). James 1:27 says, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress..." Your kindness towards Sacha today made me very proud.
At the end of our playdate, we were all a little sad to think that we might not ever see Sacha again. On our way home, we had a good discussion and the three of you realized that not every child is as fortunate as you! You guys were very curious about why Sacha lives in an orphanage and that led to a good lesson on being thankful for our family and our country. Spending time with little Sacha reminded all of us to count our blessings. He is a dear, dear boy, and we all sort of fell in love with him! Sacha will definitely be a part of our daily thoughts and prayers. As he returns to Russia on Friday, we will count it an honor to pray specifically for his peace and protection, hoping that God will help him find his forever-family very soon.
