My dearest Jackson,It's been a big couple of weeks in your sweet little life. You are learning and growing and changing every day! You have recently made some big accomplishments that we sure are proud of.
First, you finally conquered your fear of the swimming pool! For the last few summers, we haven't been able to get you to let go of the ladder or go in to the water past your waist. We tried every way we knew of to get you to let go, but in true "Jackson" fashion, you did it in your time and in your way. The other day, you realized that you were able to walk along the bottom without getting your head wet, so you finally felt comfortable enough to let go! You hopped all around Mr. Dave's pool and had so much fun!

You also had your first golf lesson a few weeks ago. You so wanted to go along with Davis for his lessons last summer, but you weren't quite old enough. Now that you are a big seven-year-old, you finally got to join in on the fun! Daddy said you were grinning from ear to ear (and squinting because the sun was in your eyes!) when he dropped you off at the course for your first lesson. Several people have commented on what a "natural" you are, so we are anticipating great things from you on the golf course! As soon as Carter gets a little bigger, Daddy will have the foursome he's always dreamed of!
Perhaps the biggest news of all is that you gave your heart to Jesus this past week at Vacation Bible Camp. Daddy and I spoke with you about what this means, and we think you truly understand the significance of your decision. We are so proud that you took this step of faith. God has great things in store for you, little man! We are so excited to see what He has planned for your life. Our prayer for you is contained in this simple verse:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
~Proverbs 3:5-6
With much love,
Mommy
