How Carter Turned Six

The birthday list, which took weeks for you to compose because you kept changing your mind.

Peeking across the table to check out your birthday loot. You didn't get everything on your list, but I think you did okay.  To the left of the Star Wars shirt is a card that your sister proudly decorated for you. To the right is a stack of Pokemon cards that Jackson hand-picked from his own stash just for you.  Later that morning, B brought over her gift for you -- your much-anticipated and highly sought-after Captain Rex Helmet.
You got a kick out of this IOU from Mommy and Daddy, for a brand new bike of your choosing.

Instead of a big party, you chose to invite your two best buddies (McKinney Crozier and Jackson Flynt) for a playdate at Chuckie Cheese.  Since it was a school day, we practically had the entire place to ourselves.  Mommy was VERY happy about that.

Video games you could actually ride on - you were in heaven!

Your "little" birthday cake.  The big one came later.

Eating pizza with your pals.
Your brothers were there, too.  I just didn't get them in this picture.

More video game madness with your brother.

After Chuckie Cheese, we went to Wal-mart so you could pick out your new bike.  We let you ride it all the way from the back of the store to the front registers and you were so proud of yourself.

After dinner, we sang to you again and you got your "real" birthday cake -- a homemade, two-layer chocolate ganache cake made by Daddy.  You asked for chocolate - and you GOT chocolate!  After you blew out your candles, you reached up and gave Daddy the biggest, sweetest hug.
Later that evening, we drove over to the elementary school parking lot to let you try out your new set of wheels.  You had a little trouble getting steady and staying upright (there were even a few tears shed over a couple of skinned knees), but you had fun trying!

It was a fun ending to a FUN day.
We hope you enjoyed your 6th birthday, sweet boy!
